Scott Mills confirms new Radio 1 contract

Scott Mills has confirmed that he will remain at Radio 1 until at least 2015.
Mills took to Twitter to reassure fans he would be going nowhere, after signing a new contract with the BBC. His comments came after mounting speculation that he was “on his way out” following the news that Greg James was to take over the drivetime slot from next month.
Mills tweeted “For those asking I have just signed a new 3 year deal with Radio 1, and am very happy:) New challenge!”.
He added “New show time from April 2 is 1-4pm. And the daily podcasts are still happening!”
Radio 1 boss Ben Cooper is hoping the revised schedule will attract younger audiences and give Radio 1 a fresher sound.
